Rust-Preventive Coating
Keeping Rollers Stable in Humid and Corrosive Environments
Roller failure is not caused by wear alone-corrosion is another silent threat.
In many cases, the working surface of a roller remains in good condition while the shaft ends or journals have already corroded to the point where the bearings cannot be removed. In other cases, rust spots may appear on the roller surface. Although they may not affect dimensional accuracy, rust contamination can compromise the finished product, which is unacceptable in industries such as food processing, pharmaceuticals, and optical film manufacturing.
In humid environments such as paper mills, as well as offshore and chemical-processing applications, corrosive media can attack the roller from the outside inward, causing progressive material loss and potentially resulting in a significant reduction in mechanical strength.
To address different levels of corrosion risk, we provide three anti-corrosion coating solutions, each designed for specific operating conditions:
- PTFE / Fluoropolymer Coatings: Combining anti-stick performance, corrosion resistance, and low friction, ideal for adhesive-processing and high-temperature heat-sealing applications.
- Electroless Nickel-Phosphorus (Ni-P) Plating: Offering excellent uniform coating thickness, making it suitable for complex geometries and demanding corrosive environments.
- Zinc-Based Coatings / Dacromet: Providing sacrificial anodic protection, primarily used to protect roller shafts and journals against rust and corrosion.
