Precision Polishing | From Precision to Perfection - Removing Surface Imperfections Through Controlled Grinding
Polishing is one of the oldest and most indispensable processes in roller surface treatment. Chrome plating can increase surface hardness, while sandblasting can modify surface texture, but only polishing can truly make the surface smooth-removing turning marks, grinding lines, scratches and oxide layers while restoring the roller's original geometric accuracy and surface finish.
The essence of polishing is a "subtractive" process. Through the controlled relative movement between abrasive media and the roller surface, microscopic surface peaks are gradually removed until the specified surface roughness is achieved.
Our polishing capabilities cover a wide range of requirements, from standard bright finishes at approximately Ra 0.15 μm to ultra-smooth, optical-grade mirror finishes down to Ra 0.008 μm, covering applications from conventional industrial rollers to precision optical surfaces.
Our polishing workshop is equipped with five precision polishing machines, including:
- Two large centerless polishing machines, suitable for roller diameters of 50–600 mm
- Two diamond lapping machines, designed for precision mirror finishes
- One CNC ultra-precision lapping machine, designed for optical-grade surface finishes
We can process roller surfaces made from a wide range of materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum alloys, chrome-plated surfaces and ceramic coatings, providing customized polishing solutions according to the required surface roughness, dimensional accuracy and application requirements.
